What is Shockwave Therapy?

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (EWST) is a non-invasive treatment conducted in the office with minimal pain and quick recovery.

Shockwave Therapy has been FDA cleared for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, with up to 82% of patients reporting an improvement of pain after a complete course of therapy.

Shockwave therapy is especially helpful for heel pain, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinitis, muscle inflammation, stress fractures, and other foot and ankle conditions.

How does it help?

Shockwave delivers focused high-energy acoustic waves to the injured structure, which initiates new blood vessel formation and recruits a surge of growth factors to help heal stubborn musculoskeletal conditions

Is it right for me?

Shockwave therapy could be right for you if a more conservative treatment plan for your chronic pain has failed. Shockwave therapy could also be appropriate for recurring injuries as well. You and your physician will help decide if Shockwave is appropriate.

Our team at InStride Capital Foot and Ankle Centers can help answer any questions that you may have about this promising treatment plan.
