Heel Pain
What causes Heel Pain?
Heel pain most often results from plantar fasciitis or thickening and inflammation of a band of tissue that runs from the heel to the toes and helps to support your arch.
Other causes of heel pain include heel spurs, loss of heel cushion or fat pad, nerve damage, tendinitis, ligament damage, stress fracture, arthritis, foreign body (glass, splinter), or even malignancy.
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms can vary depending on the cause of heel pain, but can include pain with first step, stiffness, sharp shooting pain and possibly swelling, numbness/tingling, and burning.
